My Journey into Media
My interest in media began while working at a garden centre. At first, it was just a part-time job—but I found myself drawn to the visual side of things. I enjoyed arranging displays, thinking about how products were presented, and even experimenting with layout ideas. That experience made me realise I wanted to explore a more creative field—one where I could shape how things look and feel, and tell a story visually.

From there, I began learning more about media and developing my skills. Along the way, I also worked at McDonald’s, where I gained discipline, resilience, and experience in working under pressure. It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me how to stay organised and calm in fast-paced environments—something that’s come in handy in media projects with tight turnarounds.
One of the most inspiring experiences I had was working at Disney. Being part of a globally recognised brand opened my eyes to just how much thought and creativity goes into delivering great experiences. From attention to detail to storytelling on a massive scale, Disney reinforced my desire to be in a field where imagination and professionalism come together.

Most recently, I took on a new kind of challenge with Camp America, working as a lifeguard. It gave me the chance to step outside my comfort zone, travel, and work with people from different cultures. It wasn’t directly related to media, but it helped me grow as a person—building my confidence, leadership, and communication skills, all of which now strengthen my work in creative teams.

Each role I’ve taken has taught me something new—and all of it feeds into the way I approach media today: with creativity, curiosity, and a strong work ethic.
